Poll Reveals Antisemitic Views among Polish High-School Students

On April 15, 2013, the Homo Homini polling institute published the results of a survey, commissioned by the Jewish community, among 1,250 students from 20 high schools in Warsaw. Accordingly, 44% of respondents said they would not want to have Jewish neighbors and more than 60% among 17-18-year-old respondents said they would not want a Jewish boyfriend or girlfriend; 54.6% said that the Poles had helped the Jews "sufficiently" during the Holocaust. Spokeswoman of the Jewish community Joanna Korzeniewska told the daily Gazeta Wyborcza that the results will be used to develop educational programs.
