Polish-Jewish Relations "Expert" Blames Jews for Holocaust

In early April 2013, in an interview to the Polish magazine Focus, well-known expert on Jewish-Polish relations Prof. Krzysztof Jasiewicz, from the Polish Academy of Sciences, said, among other things, that "the scale of the German crime was only possible because Jews themselves participated in the murder of their own people… For many generations, the Jews, not the Catholic Church, worked to bring the Holocaust about… The Jews have a problem because they are convinced they are the chosen people… The crime at Jedwabne and other pogroms… were mostly motivated by great fear of the Jews.” In a letter sent to the president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Simon Wiesenthal Center called to suspend Jasiewicz.  Polish nationalists, however, said that Jasiewicz’s words were "factual and necessary.”
